The Invention

Invention means the act of finding out or inventing; contrivance or construction of that which has not before existed; as the invention of logarithms, the invention of the art of printing. Innovation and invention are almost the same. It uses existing ideas and improve it into new ideas and ways

Invention comes from imagination. It also possible to develop the existing invention and turn it into something new. Some things need to be revised to create new invention. Invention needs imagination, dreams that no one sees before. inventing requires seeing things from other perspective and realizing it as a new thing. But, invention not necessary is unpredictable. Perhaps, it is thought but no further knowledge that time to invent it. Later on when that thing is invented, it becomes something new. It becomes something exist and real which perhaps it was only an imagination.

For an example, a camera phone can be considered as invention because it is a device which allow the user to take photos and communicate with others by talking and sending messages. No one thought about that before. Camera device and a phone device were different innovation. The combination of the devices is called as invention.

There are differences between innovation and invention. Overall, innovation is the extension of invention or the process of improving where it begins. Innovation relates to novelty and modernization whereas invention relates to creation of something new. Innovation leads to creativity and this can be applied to various aspects of life, right from industries to personal management. Invention is something fresh and not known to the world yet while innovation may be new to the industry or an organization, but it may not be new to the world. Invention is practical and can be assessed or felt by the people. On the other hand, innovation is a modern idea which can be applied to the present situation. Innovation is invention plus exploitation. When an idea of making a new product or process first occurs, it is innovation, while invention is the primary attempt to bring that idea into practice. Invention's concern is a singular product or process but innovation involves an amalgamation of various products.

In conclusion, invention is a creation of existing ideas into something new. Invention needs imagination to develop existing ideas. It relates to novelty and modernization of creating something new. Combination of invention and exploitation produce innovation.
